Ashtanga & Prenatal Yoga Teacher: Ally South

Ally South was born and raised in England. She became interested in the practice of Ashtanga in 2000 when she was first introduced to the practice by a local teacher, Mark Freeth. Since then she has practiced a traditional form under the guidance of acclaimed Ashtanga Teachers Hamish Hendry, Fiona Parker, Paul Dallaghan, and Melissa Cooper Margolin, and has been fortunate enough to have traveled to India to practice with Sharath Rangaswamy at the Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore. Before yoga, Ally trained professionally as a contemporary dancer at one of the United Kingdom's leading dance schools (Laban), where she became versed in Laban Movement Analysis. Ally has applied her dance & movement knowledge to her own practice and teaching, thus allowing her to adapt the practice for all ages, body types, & students' levels of experience. This enables each student to gain the most out of each session; whether that's focusing on building and toning muscle, healing physical ailments, preparing for a wonderful childbirth, or just having a space to be able to relax and rejuvenate.

"I keep coming back to the same 'place'...which is that I was truly happier when attending your yoga class (as a compliment to yourself). I felt encouraged by you and wanted to pursue it further. You truly were an inspiration!"
